Fall is the Greatest Season of All (Random stuff)
Love the crisp air, and the seasonal vegetables. But a subtle sadness sets in because soccer season is over, But that can be erased because indoor season has started up and it is plain fun to be playing. Our Team is off to a 1 and 2 start and I no longer have trouble playing a full 46 minues. We even played a double header last Sunday. So there still is soccer. With movement and fitness comes happiness.
And I am craving a winesap apple. They were my favourite as a kid but they are hard to find in this neck of the woods. You know what else I am craving; I am craving Fava beans. But that is an early summer thing. So for now, squashes of all varieties can be found and it is the perfect time of year to make warm savory soups.
With crisp nights comes a warm fire. We spent the last week splitting firewood and that is hard work and it feels good. So does a warm fire on a crisp evening and the simple pleasure of reading a book.
Some times life is simple like that.
