Penn State. When i was an Undergrad
I remember remember being out in the streets after the Phillies had won a world series. Well the memory is not exactly Chrystal clear. Time verifies the expanding past. Students were crazy after an event that warranted celebration. I am pretty sure there were arrests.I remember trucks could not make it through town. It was a crazy scene on a positive night.
What I am pretty sure of right now is that we just followed the crowd. I was 20 years old and that is what I knew. It was fun.
Tonight’s melee in Happy Vally was much of the same. I write this half a world away. We saw a bunch of followers in the news. But as I have matured I know and it is reported that there were vigils all over town for the victim of these crimes They are where I should have been many years ago But I wasn’t quite there yet. Penn State had not changed me yet. The real world had done that later.
I understand the supporters of Paterno. I completly understand them But I do not agree with them. JoPa had to go.
