Faux Fish and Real Chips
The recipe is here. We traditionally have seafood Christmas eve. We still made made Crab, clams and shrimp for the kids. And i hate to admit this is my favorite meal of the year as these are the foods i realy liked.
Instead my wife, my sister and myself self stayed the Vegan course and while making everying thing else we made Faux Fish and Chips. The kitchen was choas out of control. The egg substitute was nearly perfect but the pace of kitchen with everything else going on was almost too much to handle. Dip the precut tofu in the the pseudo egg mixture then into the wonderful beer batter. (The batter is basically beer, corn starch, flour and spices). I might add some heat the next time I make it.
Much to my surprise the Faux Fish and Chips came out looking like fish and chips but tasting like a well battered spicy tofu. And I like the taste of tofu.
The Fish and chips were fine. Now to get more creative with the Tarter Sauces. The non vegans even seemed to like them.
