Today I went for a 7 mile run and it was a perfect night to run and one of those days where I run a moderate distance with added effort. I rarely run with headphones but tonight i ran listening to NPR. It was interesting to hear that the US now exports more gasoline (not pure petroleum) than it actually uses. We use less gas than we did in 2001 even after adding 30 million people. There is obviously more to the story however we as a nation are making some strides in that area.
Making the choice of driving a more fuel efficient car has certainly helped. But certainly the choice of eschewing meat based products has a huge impact. It makes me feel proud to have chosen a vegan life style.
Eating meat is one of the worst things that you can do for the Earth. It’s wasteful, it causes enormous amounts of pollution, and the meat industry is one of the biggest causes of climate change. Adopting a vegan diet is more important than switching to a “greener” car in the fight against climate change.p
